ACNECARE CLEARTECH™ TREATMENT

USE OF THE PRODUCT

How often do I apply the product?
It is recommended to begin with once a day application to make sure excessive drying does not occur. Increase to twice daily if needed or as directed by a doctor. If excessive dryness, flaking or peeling occurs, reduce application to once daily or every other day.

How much do I apply?
Use enough of the product to cover the affected area with a thin layer.

Do I wash it off?
No, but do cleanse skin thoroughly before application.

After I have applied the product, how long should I wait to shower?
For best results apply product at bedtime or after showering in the morning. This product is specially formulated to penetrate deeply and absorb into the skin, but wait at least a couple of hour before showering after applying the product.

Can I use this product on my face?
Yes, it is designed for facial application (avoid the area around the eyes.)

Can I use this treatment on areas other than my face?
Yes, AcneCare ClearTech ™ Treatment can also be used on other acne-prone areas of the body such as the back, chest, arms, etc.

How long will a tube last?
For facial application the tube should last about a month. However, it’s dependent upon the number of uses per day.

Will ClearTech Treatment bleach my eyebrows or hair?
There is a possibility that bleaching of the eyebrows or hair could occur. Do not apply to the eyebrows or near the hairline.

Will ClearTech Treatment bleach fabrics?
It is best to avoid contact with clothing or fabrics, as bleaching could occur. Using white towels and pillow cases would be ideal during treatment.

Is the formula suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes, this ultra-gentle formula is ideal for sensitive skin.  It is hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, oil-free, fragrance-free, preservative-free and contains no parabens or petroleum products.

How long will it take to work? When will my acne be gone?
Results will vary, but clinical trials on this product have shown:

Is the formula natural?
AcneCare ClearTech ™ consists of 92% naturally derived ingredients.

What is Benzoyl Peroxide?
This ingredient is used to treat mild, moderate, and, sometimes, severe acne. When applied to the skin, Benzoyl Peroxide works by reducing the amount of acne-causing bacteria and by reducing redness. The product works by penetrating the blocked follicle, killing the bacteria and dissolving the blockage.

Why does the product contain 5% of Benzoyl Peroxide? Why doesn’t the formula have a higher concentration?
AcneCare ClearTech ™ Treatment Active 5 Micron Complex utilizes 5% of technically advanced, micronized Benzoyl Peroxide that is only 5 microns in size--making it the deepest penetrating formula available. Conventional anti-acne formulas contain Benzoyl Peroxide with a particle size of 40 to 60 microns--which do not penetrate as deeply and can actually stay on the skin’s surface causing irritation. A higher concentration of this special Benzoyl Peroxide is unnecessary and could be extremely harsh and irritating to the skin.

What anti-oxidants are included in the formula?
The formula contains Epilobium Angustifolium Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract (Canadian Willowherb)--an anti-oxidant that reduces inflammation, redness and the formation of free radicals. It provides a higher efficacy than Vitamin C.

How often do I apply the product?
Apply AcneCare Clean Screen Protective Lotion in the morning as part of your daily routine or before sun exposure. While in the sun, reapply every two hours and after swimming or excessive perspiration.

How much do I apply?
For facial application, use enough to fully cover the face (avoid the area around the eyes.) Start with a dollop about the size of a dime, gently rub it in, and let it dry.  For full body applications, a good rule of thumb is 1 ¼ ounces per use.

Do I wash it off?
You should wash the product off at the end of the day.

Can I use Clean Screen like a normal sunscreen?
Yes, usage is the same as a “normal” sunscreen. However, this formulation delivers immediate and consistent protection and won’t degrade like most conventional sunscreens.

Is this product a part of a multi-step system?
No, this formula was developed as a complement to the AcneClear Tech Treatment. It is recommended that you protect your skin daily with a gentle, but effective broad spectrum sunscreen designed for acne-prone skin.

How long will a tube last?
This product comes in a 4 ounce tube, so an estimated use-up rate for daily use (face and arms only) would be about one month. You would get about four full body applications from one tube.

Is the formula suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes, formula is perfect for sensitive skin.  It is hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, oil-free, and fragrance-free.

Why does Clean Screen contain vitamins? Does it contain vitamin A?
New Clean Screen is enriched with potent anti-oxidants to help prevent skin damage and reduce UV-induced redness. No, it does not contain Vitamin A which may have negative effects on the skin.

How do the anti-oxidants work?
They inhibit oxidation and act as free-radical scavengers which helps reduce UV skin damage and help promote anti-aging.

Why is Clean Screen Oxybenzone-free?
Oxybenzone is responsible for some stinging some individuals experience when using sunscreen. In addition, oxybenzone is now thought by some to have the potential to cause cancer.  Skin Health Technology has chosen to formulate our products without oxybenzone, whenever possible.

What is Canadian Willowherb?
Canadian Willowherb is an anti-oxidant that helps reduce the formation of free radicals on the skin, reduce erythema (redness,) and reduce inflammation. It also inhibits the growth of bacteria on the skin—particularly the bacteria that causes acne.

What does 35 SPF mean?
SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor. The Sun Protection Factor is the rating of how much UVB sunburn protection the product provides.

What do the UVA stars mean?
This product has been tested based upon upcoming standards that will soon be introduced by the Food and Drug Administration.  The FDA has not yet finalized the sunscreen monograph, which will include a rating system for UVA protection when it is implemented. The FDA has released a methodology that we believe will be the new standard--one which incorporates STARS to indicate the level of UVA protection a product provides. We have tested this product according to these STAR standards.

Why is Clean Screen considered broad spectrum?
It provides both UVA and UVB sun protection. In fact-- the HIGHEST—FOUR STAR UVA sunscreen power available with HIGH 35 SPF--UVB protection.  

What does non-comedogenic mean?
It means this product will not clog pores.

What does photo-stable mean?
Most conventional sunscreen formulas break down when they are exposed to UV light.  Photo-stable means that this superior formula maintains its effectiveness after sun exposure.
